This is just a simple custom shape. To get the effect on the shape, just use blending options.

easy...

after u create the circle, then you need it to use a blanding option, choose the light direction, and transparancy volume.

then, create a little circle in it, and creating a mask, and apply a gradient.

finally, create a small circle for the top, and put a little blanding option using inner shadow.

i hope it will help u.

It is very simple please follow the steps.
1. Open MS word.
2. Select Design Tool Bar -- Select Auto Shape -- Select Star and banner
3. Select the required shape and then draw.

also, in freehand, it is simply a circle with a ragged edge effect applied and can set how many points and how big... I dont use illustrator but is likely about the same...

If you use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements there are 2 tools called: Cookie Cutter Tool or Custom Shape Tool with all sorts of shapes. This shape is one of them

The image I made is taken from the "Custom Shapes" available in photoshop by default, but the circle I want to make is different from that shape.

Do I need to download it from somewhere or there are some properties which I can change to increase/decrease the edges of circle?

Well, if you want to change the shape you have to start from scratch. I would figure out how many "teeth" you want, how many degrees those teeth are, then rotate the circle by that degree (part of 360º) and duplicate the triangle and add one at a time. Complete 1/4 of the circle and then just duplicate, rotate until you have the full circle.

There might be a better way, but that is what I would do It only requires a little patience.

And to think it'd be so easy to make in Illustrator.

If you have that option that would be great

Use the first shape you have (standard photoshop star).
Duplicate the layer
rotate clockwise by 5 degrees
merge the layers

I got help from some other forum and I thought I should share it here too.

you have to play with the settings, you choose the polygon tool, then at the top you click the icon 2 over from it, when you mouse over it says "custom shape tool" click it, check off "star" and put 8% in "Indent sides by", then over beside "sides" put 90 or so, and play around with the numbers til it's how you like.

This is all I wanted to know
