Illustrator or Photoshop      Dec 12, 2008, 20:24 1

Hi Guys

Which is the best program to do this drawing so that it can be expanded to a huge size like 5000x5000px for printing? What resolution should one start with if in Photoshop?

Thanks and Cheers
Jon

Very true. In fact, you can use both. Create it in Photoshop, then export it to to an Illustrator file format.

If you're aiming to create a logo, Illustrator is the best way to go. Photo enchancements are for Photoshop. I've followed this rule ever since I discovered how wonderful Illustrator works for creating logos. Especially Web 2.0

I prefer to use Illustrator for print works and Photoshop for web graphics and general projects that I won't be printing.

Illustrator would probably be the best choice because you will be able to increase the size to any size needed since the image would be a vector.

If you are printing I would check with your printer for their requirements. You are usually safe with 300dpi.

illustrator is best bet for printing and vector graphics in general, photoshop will loose quality when resizing images

Illustrator for me also because it is more on printing and has a lot to offer against photoshop. I think Illustrator has an enormous edge over the PS for printing.

Illustrator is the way to go because it is a software that produces Vector graphics.
You may search the forums for discussions about these matters!
@Kernelpower..
It is not the same thing but knowing Photoshop and its tools will HELP...
Of course Illustrator can't replace Photoshop and vice versa
